Explore Wordbirds™ songs! Each one is designed using strategies to build early communication skills through its own focus word or skill. Focus words will be prominent in songs encouraging repetition, a critical tool for speech and language growth.

My Teddy Feels
Focus words: happy, sad, mad, scared
This song is inspired by the first emotions speech therapists use to nurture early communication. Sing it with your little one in the mirror, clearly showing each emotion as you name it. Your child will begin to recognize your expressions over time and will imitate them when ready.

Bubbles Pop!
Focus words: blow, bubble, pop
Try it with real bubbles! Pairing words to actions strengthens word-meaning connections. Say blow and blow, bubble as you point to it, and pop! as you pop. As your child catches on, pause to give them a chance to join in—any intentional sound or gesture counts!

Bananas for Bananas
Focus word: bananas
Rock out with drums or anything that makes sound! Since banana has multiple syllables, practice it first—tap/clap each syllable so your child can hear and feel each part. There are lots of chances in the song (including in the instrumental!)
to tap out the word together.

Babble with Baby
Focus skill: babbling
Babbling is a key building block to expressive language/speech. Get down to your child's level or hold them close! Babble to them and let them watch your lips and hear your sounds. If your child imitates you, celebrate their attempts by joyfully imitating them back!

Join Me and Clap
Focus word and skill: clap
Invite your child to clap along! Imitating actions is a key early language skill, and pairing the word clap with the motion helps kids who are ready, begin to say the word too. During the instrumental, use exaggerated mouth movements and say clap while clapping, then pause to give your child an opportunity to respond.

Hi Wordbirds™
Focus word: hi
Hi is a favorite early word for speech therapists because it’s simple, social, and encourages back-and-forth interaction. Set out your child’s favorite toys and take turns saying hi! to each one. Add a wave or smile to help connect the meaning to the word—try it while singing along to the song!

Waving Bye-Bye
Focus word: bye-bye
Bye-bye is a favorite early word because it’s simple, social, and naturally repetitive. The repeated sounds make it easier for little ones to hear, remember, and imitate. Add a wave to involve their whole body—movement and repetition helps the word stick. Wave bye-bye during everyday routines like closing a door or putting away a toy.
